Address Line 1 vs Address Line 2

Line 1 contains the street and building number. Line 2 is normally optional and holds apartment, suite, or unit details.

Format and field rules

Address Line 1 is normally required and includes the building number, direction, street name, and street type.

Address Line 2 should remain optional for Apt, Suite, Unit, Floor, and similar secondary details. Leave it empty when no secondary information exists.

Recommended test cases

Cover normal input, boundary input, and deliberately invalid input as separate cases.

  • Submit successfully with only Line 1
  • Test Apt 4B and Suite 210
  • Check whether an empty Line 2 is sent as an empty string or null

Scope

This guide explains development-test formatting. It does not provide a delivery, identity, or payment verification result.
